Ms. Texas Senior America 2012
On August 11, 2012 Lillie Madison was crowned Ms. Texas Senior America 2012. This Arlington resident became the first African American woman to win the crown in the history of the pageant. In October 2012, Lillie traveled to Atlantic City, New Jersey to compete with 50 other women for the Ms. Senior America title, and won Second Place.
But this is just part of the story.
Lillie Madison was born in Knoxville, TN with the God given gift of a beautiful voice. As, a child she started singing gospel songs that inspired and carried her through her teens and adulthood. Lillie is the gorgeous mother of three sons, grandmother of two grandchildren and has three great-grandchildren. Through the years Lillie maintained home, work and a career, but she continued to sing. She has sung for Alex Haley, former Vice President Al Gore, and former Gov. of TN, Ned McWhorten.
Lillie was transferred from Knoxville, TN to Dallas/Ft. Worth with Delta Airlines, Inc. in 1994. This was a turning point in her life. While still a gospel singer, her talent broadened to ballads, love and inspirational songs.
Lillie has met so many wonderful and loving people in the great state of Texas. She is currently the Director of the Ms. Texas Senior America Pageant. She is a member of the Cameo Club of Texas and with them performs at Veterans’ Hospitals, and for residents of independent and assisted living communities. She is a member of the Potter’s House in Ft. Worth, TX. Her special interests include working in her flower bed, gardening, ceramics, crocheting and water aerobics.
It is important to Lillie that women of all ages understand that life is what we make of it and how we live it. The hopes and dreams and talents that we develop in our youth can carry us through life. At any time, at any place, at any point in our lives we can accomplish great things and achieve our goals and dreams.
Since winning the Ms. Texas Senior America title, Lillie has created her own one woman show. You too can experience the inspirational sounds of Ms. Texas Senior America 2012 by booking Lillie Madison for your next gathering, birthday party, special event or any time you simply want to “wow” your audience with gospel, ballads or inspirational melodies from the heart
Lillie’s message from her heart:
Throughout my life singing has been my inspiration. Through song I share with others the source of my strength, which gives me confidence to handle the present and prepare for the future without fear. One of my greatest joys in life is extending my hand to help other people. I remain faithful to God who sustains my very existence.
Live for today, learn from yesterday, and dream for tomorrow.
